Wearable Arts
Last Friday 3 classes took a trip to the museum to check out the Wearable Arts Exhibition. While we couldn't take photos of the costumes, we were able to take photos of the fabulous head pieces we made to show off under UV light.
Through this activity we learned there are many different techniques we can use to change a plain piece of paper (+ sellotape & scissors) into a funky piece of wearable art!
Also having seen the costume exhibition and delving more into what the inspiration was for some of them, I think we are ready to see where our collective creative minds will take us.

Exercises to Energise
The words on the page start to blur, our eyes narrow and our eyelids droop, slowly, slowly they close... until we find ourselves staring at the inside of our eyelids... Wake up! Time for an Energiser!
Here's an example of an energizer that Jack and Joel got us right into:

Sharing my culture with the class by Amber
Michelle (my mum) came in and helped me share my culture with room 9 (I think they enjoyed it!). My family comes from South Africa. We bought some foods (billtong, cooked sisters, and super C's yum!). We talked about Nelson Mandela he was in jail for 27 years and was fighting for his freedom and for black people to vote. We shared some stories about snakes under the bed. I also made a powerpoint about African Animals which you can see below.
