Camp Self Portraits finished!!!

Soooo we looked at proportion, sketched, sketched some more, and even a little more, until we were sure that our body was as proportionate as possible.  We also wanted our bodies to be showing movement, and not just hanging limply from the flying fox or sliding with our bodies straight down the hydroslide.

Then we started the really fun and messy part - using our fingers as paint brushes! There were paint palettes created out of folded newspaper all around the desks, and we had smaller pieces to wipe our fingers with.  All our colours had to be mixed, as we quickly realised that if we just used the colours straight from the paint bottles, the colours looked dull and flat.

The last part, was adding detail and outlining with pastel to really make our paintings come to life!  We certainly noticed the difference.

We all think that we did a fabulous job persevering with our paintings, and taking our time to create a piece of art that we were proud to display.   A big thanks to Mrs Gilbert for coming in and helping us every step of the way.  She sure knows her art!
