Production Collages

Our production collages look awesome!  We're very proud of them and they look great on the backgrounds painted for our production.

First we sketched ourselves in costume and tried to get movement so we weren't just standing there doing nothing!  Then we cut out this sketch and used it as a pattern to cut out the parts of our body out on colour paper.  Eventually lots of cutting and glueing led to our amazing finished collages.

Each one has been photocopied and backed on coloured card for calendar art which you can view at the office prior to payment.

Our class wall display looks like this.

Kidblog - our blogging platform for individual blogs

Our class has signed up to Kidblog which is a safe, supervised platform for children to have their own blogging account.  To access their blogs, visit TeamMrsBell's blog page.
This page shows a list of the children's blogs.

For students to access their blog accounts: select login, on the top, right hand corner. A list of students' first names will appear. Students just need to select their name and enter a password to get to their individual blog pages. There, they may read posts, start a new blog post or leave a comment on someone else's blog. Users must be logged in to view or create posts and comments.  As we are beginning our individual blogging journey, posts will not be public at this stage, but can be read by classmates, other classes we connect to, and also parents once you have joined via an access code.
If you would like access, you will need to sign up via an access code.  Once your child logs in, choose Control Panel and the icon for Profile. You will see a line that says Parent Code. If you press the Regenerate button, it will give you a code. Log out of your child's account and go to the main Kidblog page and choose the Parents button. Enter your code and create a username and password. Please let me know if you need assistance with this. We would love to have parents participate in our blogging.

All blog entries are first sent to me, as moderator. I will assist with editing if necessary, and approve entries before they post.  Please let me know if you have questions. I'm looking forward to reading our student blogs!

Flippin Fantastic Gymnastics

We've had an awesome 3 weeks of forwards and backwards rotations, handsprings, round offs, dive rolls, forwards flips and some other random parkour moves that have snuck in there!  Prepare yourself for some blurry photos because an iPhone camera is no match for these speedy gym moves!

Mars comes to visit - that is Mars the goat, not planet.

Isla brought Mars (and dad) for a visit.  We watched Mars slurp away on a bottle of special formula. Then the delightful Mars walked/ran/skipped (we need a better verb but can't think of one!) around us, while we had a quick pat.  Talk about cutie patootie!

Frobscottle from the BFG by Roald Dahl

Frobscottle is the most delicious drink in Giant Country.  Its upside down bubbles is the cause of whizz popping - if you don't know what this is... well let's say it's the opposite of burping!

On Friday as a follow up activity from reading The BFG last term, we choose ingredients and made up a recipe to make our own Frobscottle.  Miss Maltby came to visit our class and helped us out.  Our recipes were a more healthier version with the whizz popping inducing fizzy being soda water!  Other ingredients were frozen berries, frozen banana, oranges, apple juice etc.

Our verdict - every group thought their Frobscottle was the best!

Happily Ever After... Almost

Here's the opening clip shown at our school production, using video footage and Puppet Pals for the classroom scene.  We have Doug's unique story telling voice and Jaden's gruff grumpy teacher voice, and Mandolin expertly moving the characters into the scene. Well done!
